- The ability to automatically find and download the papers saves me a lot of time. The integration with Bibtex is particularly helpful when writing research papers.
Dr Daniel Corbett
Liquid Crystal Technology Group University of Oxford- I started using colwiz during the beta-testing and there's no going back. It gives me more than any reference manager I have previously used - it manages my schedule, experiments, meetings, contacts and reading lists.
Dr Manish Kushwaha
Division of Cell & Molecular Biology Imperial College London- I've been looking for a site that handles to-dos, pdf libraries etc in a form that's specifically adapted for scientific research, and this looks ideal! this has more promise than anything else I've seen lately.
Dr Bobby Ali
Post Doctoral Researcher Stanford School of Medicine- I've just used colwiz while writing a research report. It made life so much easier to have all of my references together in one place, with the pdfs available at a click of the mouse
Shane Mansfield, Quantum Group
Computing Laboratory University of Oxford- I hadn't found software that enabled me to manage the entire research process - from concept through collaborative execution to published results - within a single platform. colwiz is the first platform to address these needs.
Over the last ten years my own research in the field of computational biology has become increasingly interdisciplinary, and I now work with a large number of colleagues not only from different departments in Oxford but from different Institutions around the world.
Prof David Gavaghan, Chief Scientist colwiz
Professor of Computational Biology University of Oxford- colwiz - a solution built by academics for academics - is already widely deployed and proving to be a great success. Research is the University's core business and so a platform to support research from a start-up is clearly a strong proposition.
Tom Hockaday
MD ISIS Innovation University of Oxford- The Computing Laboratory is using ColWiz to assemble the information it needs to assess the outputs of all academic and senior research staff Its advantages to us are its capabilities to combine the results of multiple data sources such as ISI and Google Scholar and to collect electronic copies of the papers themselves.
Prof Bill Roscoe
Head of Computer Science Department University of Oxford- ...colwiz also incorporates a set of visualisation tools to help you see the relationships between authors and documents in your library as well as get a very rapid overview of top authors and journals you've been collecting. I've never before seen a sophisticated set of tools like this fully integrated with a reference management system...
colwiz goes far beyond reference management by providing tools for scheduling meetings between members of research groups and there are many opportunities for sharing document data and collaborating on-line with colleagues. The interface of the software is clean and slick and users can access their library through a desktop application (in flavours for Linux, Mac and Windows) or over the web from any computer with a suitable browser.
Oliver Birdle, Biochemistry Librarian
Radcliffe Science Library University of Oxford- Colwiz is a collaborative site on which you can store references, create bibliographies, and share information with your network. It has interesting features including a public profile, calendar, pdf reader, and groups, with the ability to comment, tag and share. The site looked very impressive, and to be honest I'm surprised other reference management sites haven't done this before!
